As another sibling in the 5Dimes and Island Casino family, I had the pleasure of reviewing SportBet. With a simple yet awesome presentation of lines you will find yourself flicking through all the betting markets with ease which includes all major US and international sports.
If you are into a variety of bet types you will find Parlays, Teasers, Pleasers, Asian Handicaps, Reverses, Round Robins and many more at SportBet. You can also be certain that you will get paid on a big win unlike some lower grade cowboy outfits.
Having reviewed online betting establishments for several years now, I find that I have become the typical cranky old man that so many of you have experienced. You know the type, the cranky old guy is the one who complains that things just aren’t as good as they used to be, and that sites would be wise to go back to the way that things were operated back in the day.
The fact of the matter is that many online sportsbooks just aren’t what they used to be. Newer sites have all the glitz, but lack the great lines that make a sportsbook great. This extends out to older sites as well, as many have tried to adapt to the changing times by forgetting their roots and ditching what made them so great.
Thankfully there are still some very good “old dog” sportsbooks out there, who have adapted to the new ages while still sticking to their guns and keeping the old ways. We simply love these sites, as they have a soft spot in our hearts.
SportBet is one such site.
SportBet is a simple site that is a whole lot deeper than its looks portray. Upon navigating to the site, you are met with a very simple design that definitely does not tout any sort of glamor. However, once you delve inside, you are met with a lot of great lines and a layout that is both simple and effective.
The betting lines in SportBet are simply a thing of beauty. The system is laid out well and the variety of sports available to wager on is huge. During our time on the SportBet site we found the following sports available for action: Football, Basketball, Baseball, Hockey, Soccer, Golf, Tennis, Motor Racing, MMA, Boxing, Rugby, Cycling, Volleyball, Cricket, Aussie Aussie Rules Football, and more.
That selection is very heavy, and we love having as many options available to us as possible. The lines are also very competitive and we took advantage of several special bets in regard to baseball runs scored, series winners, and more.
Compared to other Costa Rican sites, the book at SportBet beats about 99 percent of its competition. We really were impressed by this site’s lines and have already been back several times on our own personal betting trips.
For those looking for a distraction from the sports betting, SportBet offers both a traditional internet casino as well as a live dealer product that is excellent. We found the standard casino to be somewhat overwhelming (it is the standard casino that you see with a lot of Central American books), but it does work.
What really impressed us was the live dealer offering. We found the lovely ladies dealing out the games to be friendly, fun, and the action competitive. Winning $270 in the process didn’t hurt either.
As a whole, we have nothing but good things to say about SportBet’s wagering area. We feel that the lines and side games are enough to have us coming back on our own time, and that is a real accomplishment.
Banking: Plenty of Options With Great Rates
All of those great lines and games are fantastic, but the back end of a sportsbook is what makes or breaks a site.
When we were going in to SportBet’s banking system we knew that the options were going to be solid. Seeing as how the site services Americans, you won’t see a lot of the financial options available to Europeans, but the amount of payment options is still pretty sizable.
Deposits are handled through: Visa, Person to Person, Money Orders, Sportsbook Transfer, Neteller, InstaDebit, Skrill, Moneybookers, and Click2Pay. All of those options are available fee free, an advantage that SportBet has over much of its competition who do charge this fee.
Withdrawals are handled with Person to Person, Money Orders, Sportsbook Transfer, Neteller, InstaDebit, Skrill, Moneybookers, and Click2Pay. While some of these options have fees associated with them, we have to say that those fees are much lower than other sites we have seen.
When withdrawing our money, we found out that the money was processed quickly, and we had money in our e-wallet within 24 hours, an industry standard for speed. We have not done a check, but have been told that times between 10-14 days are common.
Customer service is equally as good, with services available through live chat, email, and telephone. We actually had a question about some funds that appeared stuck (but really weren’t), and contacted the SportBet staff through the IM feature. Our question was resolved in 4 minutes, 12 seconds, and we were back to playing some live dealer blackjack. While your response resolution times may vary, we have pretty good confidence that you will have a good experience there.
Overall, we feel that SportBet is one of the finest sportsooks that we have ever played at. The site looks a bit simple but delivers an experience that is second to none. We loved the amount of action available, and the lines were competitive. The banking and customer support is also top notch, and we think that this site is good enough to keep us coming back.
